I’m so glad Margie! I so appreciate you letting me know that this landed. And of course for being here and for taking the time to read! ❤️

I cannot tell you how much I relate to all of this!

It means a lot to me to hear that. I love all the serendipities!

Yes! Crazy serendipities!

I love that this resolves to kindness -- radical kindness to others and self -- "We live in a world that just asks too much of our bodies, our nervous systems." Yes, and this, as you wisely say, does not make our imperfect bodies any less than whole.

I’m so glad that part resonated with you, Jan. It so often feels like that radical kindness is in short supply. It feels good to find it and share it where we can. Sending you lots of it through the airwaves and thank you, thank you for all the ways that you too put it out into the world❤️

Hi Sumaya, I made it, and not through any feeling of obligation but because from the moment I listened to you telling the first chapter I knew this would be a beautiful story told by a person I wanted to hold hands with. And since I read this last chapter (day's ago now), about your 'ah-ha' moment I have wanted to tell you this; so much of what you share here seems to slot into my own life despite not ever having suffered any long term undiagnosed pain or trauma, short to mid term yes... but never chronic.

Where you write, "You are a whole... Every part of you affects every other part. Always. They can never be teased apart." this especially I have felt through every beat of my heart recently, so much so it has been impossible to untangle ragged emotional struggles from the physical when usually I can. I feel as if I have been deprived of something that is intrinsically me.

I am reaching through fog at last though, not ignoring emotional pain but wrapping it in the creativity it has craved.... does that make sense? Self healing... it's working with the help of beautiful souls like you who recognise this need we have of working the body as a whole, and, of course, healing the body as whole too.

Thank you, for your uplifting, your understanding and recognition of the type of need to put in place, for links on your last post which I have sent to my dear friend and for sharing them.

I send you love ♥️xx

I feel your hand in mine, Susie! That has been the beautiful, unexpected gift of sharing my story on Substack: seeing and being seen, holding and being held, joining a tribe and a conversation. It’s more than I could have imagined when I dove in mere months ago! Thank you for being such a big part of that, Susie. ❤️

Jodi, it means so much to me that you resonated with that piece of art. It’s near and dear to my heart! I have it on my magnet board above my writing desk. It reminds me of so much that I regularly forget (and thankfully come home to again and again). Love that you’re here with me, friend. And thank for for taking the time to share❤️

I feel this so deeply in my cells. I know trauma, fear, pain, the freeze, and it still comes and goes when I’m not connected to self and nature.

Sumaya Abuhaidar's avatar

Yes, me too! I think it will always come and go. As long as we know how to come home to ourselves, we can just let the waves come and go. Thanks for being here, dear one : ). I love sharing all this with you.❤️
